Dr. Cynthia Ashperger has thirty years of experience in theatre, film and Television as an actor, director and acting teacher. She has taught acting at Ryerson Theatre School since 1994 where she is also the Director of Acting Program. Her main interest in teaching acting is in the body-mind aspects of acting process and in helping students overcom creative blocks. As a director she is deeply engaged in experimentation and development of the rehearsal process as well as finding a style of a performance. She is the leading Canadian expert on Michael Chekhov's Acting Technique. She has received a Canadian Screen Nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for The Waiting Room in 2016 and Dora Award Nomination for Feral Child in 2013.
